About the Role:

As an Accountant in the Business Advisory Division, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clients and advisers, delivering expert accounting and tax services, and developing strong client relationships. This position offers exposure to a broad range of advisory work, technical accounting tasks, and client engagement opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing proactive client support, including regular updates and addressing queries.
  • Running meetings for individuals and small business clients.
  • Assisting with tax planning, cashflow forecasting, business valuations, and performance management.
  • Preparing tax returns, financial statements, and Business Activity Statements.
  • Managing tax compliance matters, including GST, CGT, FBT, and Div7a.
  • Reconciling accounts, including loan accounts and government tax offsets.
  • Liaising with the ATO and external stakeholders to manage tax-related inquiries.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of accounting and advisory services.
  • Supporting the team in workflow planning, engagement documentation, and compliance procedures.
  • Continuously improving internal processes to maintain accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or Finance.

Professional Qualification - CPA or CA studies (commenced or about to commence is advantageous).

Experience - 3-4 years of experience in public practice accounting.

Technical Knowledge - Proficiency in Xero (including Add-Ons) and strong spreadsheet capabilities. Experience with cloud-based accounting software and business management tools is advantageous.

Skills - Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
