Assistant Accountant - Finance Operations
Location: Melbourne CBD Employment Type: Full-Time + Hybrid Flexibility
Are you ready to step into a role where your attention to detail, love for numbers, and drive to improve processes will make a real impact? My client is on the lookout for a motivated Assistant Accountant to support a growing Finance Operations Centre.
What you'll be doing:
This isn't your typical back-office accounting role. You'll be right at the heart of a dynamic and evolving finance operations team. You'll:

Process and manage payables and receivables with precision

Prepare reconciliations, journals, and ensure accurate financial records

Support month-end duties including accruals, prepayments, and ledger balancing

Work collaboratively with teams across the business to ensure accounting accuracy

Contribute to exciting finance transformation projects - including the rollout of our Finance Operations Centre

Identify opportunities to improve systems and streamline processes
About you:
You're not just good with numbers - you're a problem solver, a collaborator, and someone who sees the bigger picture.
You'll thrive in this role if you:

Have at least 2 years' experience in an accounting or finance support role

Bring a solid understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, and financial systems

Can work independently but also know when to collaborate

Are passionate about continuous improvement

Communicate clearly and confidently with internal stakeholders
Nice to have, but not essential:

Experience with TechOne ( but not essential )

Intermediate Excel skills
-
Progress towards CPA or CA qualifications
